Work packages
IntelComp underpins the full spectrum of policy processes from agenda-setting to formulation to implementation, monitoring and assessment. The main goal of this work package is to obtain a definition of the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) ecosystems and model how to implement evidence-based policy modeling for the whole STI process (agenda setting, policy formulation (design), policy Implementation and monitoring and evaluation), to derive functional and technical requirements to the rest of the work packages. The outcomes of this work package will contribute to the definition and implementation of the engagement and cocreation activities under WP6 and WP7 in order to determine the best timing and ways to engage the relevant Public Administrations and stakeholders in the different stages of the process.
The main objective of this work package is to create IntelComp STI Data Space to store structured and unstructured data at any scale so that we can run on them IntelComp services. Using a Data Lake approach, we will store relational and non-relational data and apply different types of analytics and machine learning algorithms to uncover insights. Data Lakes allow us to scale to data of any size, while saving time of defining data structures, schemas and transformations.
This work package aims at implementing:
- A pipeline for processing the unstructured text available in the different corpora.
- Machine learning services for analyzing STI areas.
This work package aims to the definition and implementation of IntelComp visualization components customized for three different tasks: policy making, R&D evaluation and monitoring, entrepreneurship and innovator assistance.
The objective of WP5 is to design and implement a scalable platform for supporting IntelComp services, as well as the implementation of tools for simplified deployment in multiple execution environments, High Performance Computing and computer cluster.
This work package aims at demonstrating the functionality of the platform for Public Administrations, by also involving different stakeholders (academia, civil society and industry) in the two-fold co-creation process (tools and policy) for specific use cases of IntelComp.
This work package pursues several objectives to maximize the impact of the project through a series of interlinked activities. The detailed objectives are:
- To attain a long-term impact of the project by making the policy makers and Public Administration community, relevant academy and industry players, and the general public, aware of the activities and outcomes of the project.
- To select, engage and recruit a group of relevant users (Public Administration and policy makers) and stakeholders from the different target groups (academia and industry and citizens) to be involved in WP6 co-creation activities, and provide them appropriate training to use the IntelComp platform.
- To design the innovation management strategies, explore business models and monetization strategies and design the sustainability and exploitation plan for the platform.
This work package pursues several objectives:
- To coordinate all activities in the project and ensure that partners work together effectively.
- To facilitate the scientific, research and impact success of the project through careful monitoring of progress, management of resources, open communication and coordination of activities within the time and budget constraints of the project.
- To ensure the project meets its contractual commitments.
- To predict, mitigate and overcome project-related risks.
- To provide efficient operational management support including administrative and financial planning, reporting to the European Commission, including day-to-day operational and technical progress.
- To analyze and oversee legal and ethical issues that arise within the project activities.
This work package sets out the 'ethics requirements' that the project must comply with.
